Valorant Week 8: Mechanics With Purpose
Valorant mechanics matter because the time-to-eliminate is low, but mechanics are not only aim. Crosshair placement, angle clearing, counter-strafing, burst discipline, movement timing, and utility placement all shape the fight before the first shot.
Mechanic Chain
A strong player prepares the fight before taking it. Crosshair starts at head height. Movement stops before firing. Utility blocks or reveals a dangerous angle. A teammate is close enough to trade. The player knows whether the fight helps the spike plan.
Worked Example
A duelist dry-peeks a long sightline and loses first contact. The review should not only say "aim better." The better finding is: no flash, no trade spacing, exposed angle, and no objective reason to take that duel. The repair is a utility-supported entry with a teammate ready to trade.
Evidence Task
Record one first-contact moment from a replay or scenario. Note crosshair position, movement state, utility used, trade support, and objective value.
Practice Target
Choose one controlled improvement: head-height crosshair, clearing one angle at a time, waiting for utility, or holding trade distance.
Review Check
Mechanics are ready when they serve the round plan.
