Week 02: LiPo Energy, Storage, and No-Go Decisions
This week, you will build battery risk decision record for a bounded Drone Engineering scenario. The work stays in classroom-safe analysis, supplied evidence, simulation, planning, and documentation. It does not authorize real flight or unsupervised hardware work.
The engineering problem
A student team finds a slightly swollen battery pack in a storage bin before a planned training session.
The core idea is that stored energy is useful only when the team can control where that energy goes. Students will connect that idea to LiPo packs store energy chemically, deliver high current quickly, and can become dangerous when damaged, over-discharged, shorted, punctured, overheated, or charged incorrectly.
