Week 02: Rules, Access, and Fair Events

This week asks a practical question: before a match begins, who may make which decisions? Students compare authority, evaluate bracket tradeoffs, and use a rulebook as a working tool rather than a document everyone ignores until something goes wrong.

Week vocabulary

Authority, eligibility, seeding, tiebreaker, forfeiture. A rule is only useful when participants can locate it, understand it, and know who applies it.
