Run-of-Show Planning

A run-of-show is the timeline for an event. It tells the crew what happens, when it happens, who owns it, and what evidence proves it happened.

Operational Timeline

A good esports event timeline includes setup, check-in, rules reminder, match start, result reporting, break windows, issue handling, finals, wrap-up, and cleanup. Every item should have an owner.

Worked Example

Weak plan: "Tournament starts after school."

Operational plan: "2:45 setup, 3:00 player check-in, 3:10 rules briefing, 3:20 round one, 3:50 results verified, 4:00 round two. Operations lead owns timing. Rules lead owns disputes."

Artifact: Run-of-Show

Create a timeline with at least eight events. Each event needs time, owner, and evidence.

Common Failure

Do not make the teacher the hidden owner of every task. Student roles should be visible.

Check

If someone absent can read the run-of-show and understand the event flow, it is clear.
