Inspect a Completed Defense Record
Use this model to make each defense claim testable. A strong defense states both what the evidence supports and what it does not settle.
| Decision | Evidence | Defense | Remaining limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Use a published grace period for late players. | Run-of-show and attendance record. | The same timing rule applied to every team, so the bracket could continue without an improvised exception. | The record cannot show whether travel or access barriers affected attendance. |
| Require a ruling log before the bracket advances. | Dispute form and recorded ruling. | The decision can be reviewed because the claim, evidence, and authority are visible. | A log does not prove every participant agreed with the ruling. |
| Use a smaller production scope. | Staffing list and revised run-of-show. | The event matched the available crew instead of promising a broadcast nobody could safely operate. | The smaller scope may reduce audience reach. |
Defense Questions
Prepare answers for these questions:
- What problem does your esports system solve?
- What evidence supports your plan?
- What tradeoff did you accept?
- What risk remains?
- What would you test next?
Quality Bar
A strong defense is specific, evidence-based, and honest about limitations.
