210 instructional minutes | five 42-minute lessons
This week connects electrical power, thermal management, PCIe expansion, GPUs, monitor/projector technologies, and display-path troubleshooting.
Lesson sequence
- Power Has a Path
- Cooling Is Part of Reliability
- Expansion Cards and Display Systems
- Power and Expansion Planning Lab
- Hardware Fault Isolation Challenge
Evidence you will produce
- PSU input/output and connector map;
- thermal/airflow diagnosis;
- expansion and display technology comparison;
- power/expansion planning record;
- hardware fault-isolation ticket.
A+ alignment
Primary coverage: Core 1 objectives 3.1, 3.6, 5.1, and 5.3, with reinforcement of 3.5.
Safety boundary
Never open a PSU. Remove power before internal service, allow hot components to cool, and stop work for burning smell, swollen components, or other electrical hazards.
